Wolves will be returning straight back to the championship after just one season in the League One after they managed to seal promotion with record points tally. The club will be finishing the season with more than 100 points on the board. After relegation last year, which was their second consecutive, the future of the club was looking in a lot of turmoil. However, manager Kenny Jackett has done a great job in getting the club back up the in first instance. Due to this incredible season, Wolves chairman Steve Morgan has claimed that he will be providing Jackett with whatever backing he wants in the summer transfer window.

Jackett will be hoping to avoid relegation in the new season. Hence, he is likely to sign a couple of older players with a lot of experience, while the club are also expected to utilise the loan system to the full. Jackett already had a number of loan players this season, who have been very important over the course of the campaign. Morgan has claimed that Jackett has proven this year that he deserves to be backed in the transfer window so as to help the club return to the Premier league.

Wolves finished the season with a nine-point advantage over second placed Brentford.

“The one thing I love about Kenny is he already knows what he wants for next year. I’ve never experienced that with any manager here and he’ll be supported 100 per cent to achieve what he wants. Kenny and Joe Gallen wanted to start afresh and purge the past and we totally supported that and got behind what they wanted to do. Fair play to Kenny because he hasn’t been afraid to use the players from the academy,” said chairman Morgan, who came under criticism following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
